And a 38 inch boa is NOT ready for a small/med rat. More like a pup or maybe a weanling.
 
Our girl is around 5' long and around 7 lb (just over 3100g I think is the right conversion). For a male I'd guess around 5 lb (2200g). That's give or take of course. I'd get an exact weight on our girl but she's about to shed and a little grumpy right now. :rolleyes:

A boa this size should easly take small rats... I guess it depends how old and how much it weighs. But 600 grams I would estamate at that length that its about as big around if not bigger than a small or even medium rat.
 
Holy crap did dyslexia take over. Thx for pointing that out. My eyes read "206" grams. Which is why I thought, "that's a THIN snake at 38 inches".

Strange, because I'm really not cixelsyd...

I found another picture from that day that shows his body size off a little better to get an idea of his build. (Also shows the pink/peach a little better too. It pretty much covers him from nose to tail). This was taken as he got a little more ballsy and moved toward the top, can ya tell?

Nice boa! In that last picture you can almost read what he's thinking. If he had hands I think you would have gotten a picture of this....... :nyah:
 
i wish i had a boa hehe...but he is gorgeous...its cool how he's got some pink on him :)
