Mandy the normal corn snake

Your snake in a shoe reminded me of Tink's antics with my sneakers. She would play for hours running around my house with a sneaker in her mouth! LOL
She has ruined a few pairs over the years. Hopefully Mandy will go a little easier on yours

That's so cute, daddio. Reminds me of a puppy with a shoe!

Except for pooping in it there's not much a corn snake can do to a shoe, fortunately.

Okay, sorry, I can't help myself. Here's another one taken just minutes ago. I love her so much and she's so dang cute!

Great looking lizard, daddio! If my wife saw something like that roaming the house she'd be DOA at the local hospital I'm sure! And Gail ... yes, she's a super snakey!

She IS extremely cute and looks almost ready to shed if I'm seeing her eyes correctly. Whatta beautiful little sneaky one!!

Thanks Axis! The longer I have her, the more I love her. I can't believe this pretty girl spent over a year in foster care waiting to be adopted. Adopting her is one of the best decisions I have ever made, ever :)

You are seeing her eye correctly, but the cloudiness is a cataract, not shed. This is her worse eye. When I first got her I was told she would shed soon and she did shed within two weeks, but when her eyes didn't clear we took a trip to the snake vet just to see if I should be doing anything. She got a clean bill of health and all I do is watch for any changes. She's not totally blind, but obviously her vision is impaired especially in this eye.

Mandy's Sunday Outing

Okay, so I'm lying here perfectly content...

Amazing!

How did you teach her to do that?

Rufus will come out of his cage in a heartbeat, but when I tell him to "Get back in there!" He just ignores me.

Karl, like most women she does what she wants when she wants. She's totally untrained and has told me we better keep it that way, lol. That's the first time I've ever seen her make a beeline for the viv, though! She must have been very thirsty.

Last weekend I attended the Midwest Herpetological Symposium and I had the pleasure of meeting with a few more of Mandy's fosters from the rescue. They told me how sweet she is and I told her how sweet she is and we had a little Mandy love fest. I'm so grateful to those who saved her and gave her an interim home. I can't imagine life without her.

Here are a few pics of her today. She's about 20 days out from a shed if she keeps to schedule. In spite of her cataracts, I think her eyes are beautiful.

We are now to the point where I don't want her to gain any more. I'm spacing out the feedings and giving her the smaller mice in the bag. So how does a snake eat a 12 gram weanling, have a huge poop and still weigh 12 grams more than she did before her last feeding? Water weight? Of course, it has only been 4 days since her feeding. We will see where she is in 8 more days. I'm trying to get her out every day for at least a half hour of exercise.

I can't hardly believe she would be growing a whole lot more at the size she's at now. I realize they grow all their life, but a slow down happens I think. Hope Mandy is okay with her new diet!

She seems like a very fun snake. Exercise like snake yoga? lol although i don't imagine she needs to work on her flexibility.

Yeah, she's at least 13 years old. The vet wanted her to gain a little but I've been spacing the feedings out and then feeding her less per meal since the beginning of September, so how did she gain 20 grams this past month? I don't know. It's not like she has access to other food. Its not like she's not pooping.

Lol. Snake yoga! Great idea. She's a real sweetheart. Thanks!
