Mating season behavior

I realize that my older males recent increase in activity could very well be due to the season. However, I have a very young female hatchling in the same room. My question is: Does she still produce the same pheromones that a mature female snake would even though she is only about 3 months old? Is the behavior of my male due primarily to it being mating season or is the young female in the same room adding to his desire for LOOVE?
I am debating on whether or not to move her into a different room so that he does not gnaw through his screen top :rolleyes:

Most likely your female is not producing any pheromones. My amel went off food for 3 months last year even though the female was no where near ready to breed. Even solitary males will go off feed in their search for love! I wouldn't worry about it.
 
My 9 month old male has been acting crazy for the past few weeks. Never in his hide, and always on the prowl. I don't have a female corn (or any other corn) in the house. Nor do I live in an area where corns occur naturally. So I doubt moving your female to another room would change anything.

I hope he's not after my solomon island ground boa. That would be taboo.:noevil:
 
Thank you both!! I figured it was just the season but the poor guy is DYING to get out!! It is nice to see him this much though!!

I did show him a picture of her. Maybe THAT is what all of this is about??? :eek1:
