Maximum safe temp for a cornsnake?

Hey all,

I just bought flexwatt and am having a hell of a time getting the temps set on it. It is taped the back of the rack with the probe on the very endof it. The reptitemp's are set almost on the lowest possible setting on the dial and they are just barely hitting 84-85. My question is, is it safe to have my cornsnake at around 86? Just asking because it would give me a little leeway with the reptitemp's dial.

Yeah, 86 is fine but if the probe was in the middle..ya think it might read a little hotter there??
And another thought.
I guess that the probe is in the end of it so you can slide in the tub so.....with the thickness of the bottom of the tub the temp should be a tad cooler.

The max safe temp zone for a cornsnake is 90 degrees. Over that is risking and uncomfortable. I and others don't recommend 90 but atleast from 82-85.

yes, the probe is on the end so that I can slide the tubs in and out. My accurite says the temps in the tub are 84-85. The temp gun I have also says 84-85. And knowing that the max safe temp is 90, I'm not going to be concerned if the temp hits 86-87 like I was earlier haha. Adjusting the reptitemp till its perfect is a PITA. But o[nce its set, its golden.

this is why I went with "Hydrofarm MTPRTC Digital Thermostat"

I have it set to 83F, turns on about 80.9F and turns off at 83F (but the heat pad still heats up to about 85F)
