Meet Todd the (Albino Woodhouse) Toad

DeadMouse

Hungry, hungry Hognose!
OK, we finally broke down and bought a silly little albino woodhouse toad and I don't mean that condescendingly either. This guy just cracks us up with his cute little face and quirky movements. We got him at the NWCB show in Puyallup, Washington from Lower Ground Reptiles. At first I really thought paying $60 for these little toads was a bit much from seeing pics on the net and such, but after seeing one in person, we were sold! So, here's some pics I took of Todd after we got him settled in his new home. Enjoy!

loverly toad, I remember when I was about 10 I would go with my friends to a little shallow swamp where we would catch toads and newts, we would of course release them but they are pretty cool! does your little guy have a tail? or is that a leg?

loverly pics :D

So cute! I love the toads.. I almost bought one at the Anaheim show, but I have a no-bug-eaters rule self-imposed. If I was to break it for any animal in the world it would be for a toad of some kind..

Very adorable! Toads just have the cutest faces. Don't feel bad- I paid something close to that for my last toad, too. I've been seeing Todd Toads at shows recently- they are very pretty!

That's actually his little back leg holding him up. It does look weird though now that I really look at it ;)

Nah, I don't feel too bad after having to eat some crow ;)

At least I talked the seller down to $60 from her original price of $80. I think that if she had stuck to $80, she would not have made a sale. But I think $60 seemed more like the going rate for these little guys especially considering the fact that he is so small he could easily sit on a nickel.

We've been wanting to get into poison dart frogs for many many years but I've always been afraid that I would not be able to meet their requirements, so after reading up on these toads, I figured this would make a nice and simple first step into the world of amphibians. Plus when he gets bigger, I can use him to scent for my future problem hoggie hatchlings :grin01:

You know, I also had this no-bug-eaters rule until our albino leopard gecko was literally thrust upon us from the owner of a pet store that was closing down. He was the last animal that she just couldn't sell and didn't know what to do with him so we really had no choice but to adopt him. After that, my no-bug-eaters rule went right out of the window!

Neat looking toad! I find that I prefer albino toads/frogs to the normal colors and the one you picked up is great. He almost looks fake.

WOW! I've wanted an albino toad for a while. Glad to see they are out there...now only a matter of time before I find one at a show and have to get it. There goes my bug rule.....
