I just picked up this little girl at the Kansas City show from Wisconsin Reptiles over the weekend. He said she was from Serpenco stock.

Nice snake

Looks like a keeper. You'll really be surprised at how that snake will develop in color and pattern over time. Most if not all of the milksnake phase came from Rich. I believe he was the first to start this morph but I might be wrong:)

I have a milksnake motley that throws the best looking babies and yes it came from Rich. I've bred that girl to a really nice lavender last year and so now I'm raising up some nice corns that are het for lav, motley, poss het for amel and anery and hopefully will display the milksnake phase look. They look more hypo with every shed. Should be a cool project went it comes time.

Enjoy,
Russ

wow
that's a great looking snake!
I love the patterns on this one!
I too got some milk snake phase from Rich. This year one of the female is suppose to lay..but she got egg bound and she hasn't even started laying yet....sucks right?

Oh well.............

But great looking snake!
I love it!

Very nice, that snake really stands out!

Ive got a question, wat do u breed together to get the milksnake phase?

Thanks for the compliments everyone, I really love this snake.

So Russ and Simon, what should I expect her to look like in a couple of years? I'm guessing she'll have more of a tan background (though I really want it to stay as is) and her saddles may get more orange.

Dayne, Milksnake phases were selectively bred to look the way they do, I don't think it's a gene, so much as a look passed along and emphasized through generations. But I don't really know too much about it.

Expectations

Well I think you can expect a snake that has broad mahogany to red colored saddles and the intermediate space could be tan, or in my case silver...kind of like a miami corn. I'd love to share pictures with you but I'm currently on deployment and away from my critters:( I'll be home in a few weeks and I'll send you some. you won't be dissappointed either way.

In the meantime, check out Clint Boyer, I believe he has some of these.

Russ

Hey thanks, Russ, I'd love to see some of your corns. I have checked out Clint's site, and he's got some great milksnake phases. Carol has posted quite a few pics of them as well. There doesn't seem to be a large interest in them, but I think their pattern and color is so attractive, and combined with other morphs, I think it would be a great combo. I can't wait to see some outcrosses in the near future.

MILK SNAKE PHASE

 HI EVERY ONE
I JUST THINK THAT CORN IS AWSOME AND I WANT SOME.
ITS THE SAME OLD THING WE DONT HAVE ANY ONE IN ENGLAND BREEDING BEAUTIFUL CORNS LIKE THAT.
IF YOU KNOW DIFFERENT LET ME KNOW.
ALL THE BEST
DAVE.

Hi Rolph,

I only paid $35 for mine. I know Clint Boyer and Carol breed them, so you may want to ask if they'll sell you one when they're availabe. You could also check around on people's webistes to see if they sell them. Try Wisconsin Reptiles since that's where I got mine. I don't think Rich Z is selling any normal milksnake phases, just the amels, which are also beautiful. Good luck!
