I have a 10 gal aquarium but am upgrading soon due to my snake turning a year old and with boxing week sales on now i am wondering what the min requirements to look for are.

which is better
(WxDxH)
12" x 12" x 12" or 30 x 30 x 30 cm
12" x 12" x 18" or 30 x 30 x 45 cm
18" x 18" x 18" or 45 x 45 x 45 cm
18" x 18" x 24" or 45 x 45 x 60 cm
24" x 18" x 18" or 60 x 45 x 45 cm
24" x 18" x 24" or 60 x 45 x 60 cm

I have 28" x 17" x 23" to work with
I can go to 18" but it will be off the ledge of the desk I had planned on using

If anyone knows of a custom terrarium website, or store that could work for me, please let me know (as long as they are affordable)

At a year old, you'll probably be looking for an adult-sized aquarium. Personally I'd go for something with larger floor area than any of those you suggest. The smallest I use for my adults are 36" x 12" x 18". However, many here use tubs in racks smaller than that.

A 20 gallon long tank is the smallest recommended for an adult corn, and 30 gallons are recommended...this is what I have read in a nmber of places online...

Can you use something smaller...YES. This is up to you.

My 20G Long is 30X12X12...which would hang off your desk by 2 inches...

Also, after buying the 20G long, i realized that the guy at the store was F.O.S. I can't see a 5ft snake being that happy in a 20G long...with 2 hides, a LARGE water dish, and some fake folliage...

I should have bought a 10G aquarium ($8) and then a metal lid for it ($10)...then after a year, buy a 30G with integrated sliding screen lid ($90). This would have been an overall better solution to what I have now. At least my 20G long will get me by for a couple of years...but after 3-4 years, and 5ft worth of snake, I am not so sure about the size of a 20G long.

I'm moving all mine in to 41 qt tubs, but that's just personal preference. Everyone is either in 20L or 10 gallons right now.

I have just moved mine to a 36x18x18, which should do her for the rest of her life, unless she grows larger than 5 foot+, then i will get her a new one. I would suggest you get one with more floor space than height. I went for floor space and height due to my snake being active and she likes to climb alot and hang out at the top of the fake plants.

Minimum for a hatchling is (from what I've read) one of the plastic shoe box sizes. Juvenile- 15/18 qt. Adult- 32+ quart container. In general, you'll want a shorter but longer/wider enclosure.
