Minimum age for probing

I understand that young corns can be popped to determine their sex, but i think at 9 months Smij is too old for that. How old does he need to be before i can get him probed to see whether he really is a he, or a she?

He/She can get probed at 9 months.

at 9 months tail shape can can be used to make an pretty good guess. If you post a pictures of the tail form the under side I'd be happy to give you my opinion as to it's gender.

That would be great if you could let me know what you think.... however i have just discovered my camera is somewhat lacking in the battery power department Ill see if i can get some more batteries tomorrow and i'll put up a pic.

You can actually probe any age of corn, but popping is easier to do on the babies than probing.

Please make sure you have somebody with experience show you how to probe or pop the snake, you could hurt it if you do not do it properly.

Yeah, I have no intention of doing it myself - i'll be taking him to the vets once i get paid - they have a reptile specialist who is highly recommended

You might be able to get it done at a reptile/pet store or maybe a local breeder. They may do it for free.
