Miraculous boas?!

I read the first part and shook my head. I guess this is kind of interesting, but doesn't hold onto my attention.

From what I understand, she was housed with males. If this is true, it could be that these are not "virgin" births but instead a birth defect. While it is really really cool, based on what I understand I would contribute it only to a defect. However, because I just got up, I may have misread it.

Nah, not a defect, just an anomaly. All of the male sired offspring have his genes, but the ones that look like the mother only have hers. 2 of my boas came from this breeder so I knew about this for sometime. Those oddball females are also viable and have been used in projects over the years.

What I find fascinating is that all of the offspring from the virgin births have WW chromosomes, instead of a ZW set like a normal female snake would. That was what had me sold that these really were virgin births, even though she had been housed with males.
