Monster ATE MY SNAKES

GillyMonster

Mouse killer
Woke Up this morning and found both of my snakes dead,my cat some how opened my tank lid and killed both of my baby's I am so sad :puke01: and pissed off, but what can I say it was my fault. I should have had a lock on the lid,I guess a lesson well learned.

Sorry to hear that.

From your post it seems like you were housing two snakes in one viv? If you decide to purchase another snake, you may wish to do a search here on cohabitation and read up a bit before you purchase a second.

sure it was your cat?

Your cat just happened to open your tank, jump in, kill the snakes, leave them there and jump back out? To me it just seems odd to say the least.
Are you sure they didn't just die or escape and then get killed?
I have nine cats, 18 display tanks and four rack systems and my cats show no interest in any of the snakes in their tanks.
Out of the tank, yes, in the tanks, no.

I had trouble with one of my cats. She would jump on top of the screen lid on the cage. I have lock on the lid so getting in wasn't a issue the issue was her trying to stab Metallice with her claws through the cage. All i did was put a board with air holes in it. Eros (my cat) jumps up there now and Metallica is like whatever and keeps doing her thing and Eros leans over the side and watches her.

Well I did had two snakes in one viv, at the time I had not known about until later that is was not a good thing having two snakes in one viv.But the cat was always watching them in or out of there tank,And would jump on the tank lid. This cat is very smart he opens doors in the house, cabnets doors to eat what ever was in their sugar, noodles almost anything.I think he was messing around up their had the lid open just enough that when one of the snakes came out he grabbed them, then the next one that tried to escape. We had the tank in the living room so I don't have a snake room to keep it cat free.So the next time I buy I am going to get just one and have a lock put on the tank so monster can't get to them or open the lid for a snake escape and kill.
