its been proven in many animals that the moon can determine when a baby is born/hatched. just curious if anyone has witnessed this in corns. reason i ponder is because tomarrow there is supposed to be a full moon,& tomarrow is also the due date of my eggs. not to mention that my female is also gravid, due to lay her second clutch any day. just a little curious as to if things will work out that way. probably not, but a cool thought;)

well i guess im half right:) ruby is laying her second clutch as i type, there are already 20 fertile looking egg:) she is still looks like she has a few left to lay,hopefully not too many more. her first clutch has not hatched yet,so my incubator is getting a little full. ill have the final tally when shes done,and some pics of the new eggs:)

Yes, Herphunter, I think there IS something to the Full Moon Theory!

Both of my first clutches this year were layed during the Full phase of the moon, then they both hatched during full moon, the 2nd clutch hatching EARLY in order to do so.

Now, my third clutch has started hatching (a little early) actually the morning before a huge, full moon hung low in the sky!

Surprised the daylights out of me when I went to check on them and found myself playing 'peek-a-boo' with a little Normal triple het!:) I thought they had at least 4 more days to go.

There are now 5 little noses poking out, and 7 eggs to go.
I love this!!!! LOL:D

to have your babies come on time or a little early. day 61 for my eggs today,they look like they are going to burst! still no pipping,i guess the moon didnt get them as excited as it did ruby:p i hope they start hatching soon,a 2 month wait is long enough. congrats on your new babies Melinie,i hope they all hatch and eat for you:)
 
This year mine all hatched during the New moons in May and June. All 4 of the clutches were laid during full moons.

I started using "about 2.5 moon cycles" (65-75 days, basically) to guesstimate the hatch date, because I've found that counting days on the calendar is just going to end up with me pulling my hair out when they don't hatch on time.

I've also noticed that mine tend to hatch when a storm front is coming in, or when it's raining/snowing. (Yes, a couple years ago they were hatching while it was snowing outside, hehe!)

day 65,still no babies:( i sure hope your right Serpwidgets im getting worried. i hope they hatch soon,i dont know how much more of this i can take:( but i will be strong,i know slitting an egg prematurely can cost me the baby.and all i want is whats best for my babies,so even if it means my sanity,thats what ill do:)
 
Moon phases...
Eggs were laid 4 days before the new moon in April...
Hatched 3 days before the new moon in June...
Don't know if that means anything?

Good luck with the babies, hope they hatch soon.
