Actually ended up with Fancy mice since when I had to start breeding my own feeders for the cost (i had 15 corns at that time), the pet store didn't have any white lab mice. I bought a few Fancy mice and thought they were so cute so I started naming them.
They are so much fun to watch and play with. I do feel guilty pulling them for feeders, but generic white mice really aren't that cute. Since I love to watch all my animals as much as I can, I had to have some that were pretty to just look at.
Lots of fun hand-feeding them seeds, and you don't get chomped sticking your hand into the tanks to pick them up like my corns sometimes do.
I did have some hamsters, and never bred them for feeders until a few mos ago when a male got put with a female by accident. (I'll tell you what, if I had a python, they would SO be fed to it, those bad ol hammies)
Anyway, I get just as much fun from having feeder mice as pets as I do with my corn snakes that eat them
