Mouth abnormalities.

I've got an albino corn so this stands out very well. I made a post a while back about solid black seemingly on one side of the snakes mouth. I scraped at it lightly to see if it was something lodged, but it seemed hard. In the last few days the other side got the same thing. It's right on the hinge of the mouth like the other. I thought it could be mouth rot, but theres been no seepage or goo and its really dark. The one side had been around for months besides that. She eats fine, no regurg, no pickiness, and she drinks just fine too.

It may be no problem at all, but does ANYONE know what it could be?

At this point, all I can suggest is that you take it to the vet. I've never seen anything like what you are describing.

I would suggest that as well. Perhaps you could try swab the area with a weak betadine or chlorhex wash?

If you make an appt. around $60-$65 I think. That's what it cost for my health check on Minuet.

It depends on what the vets around you charge. When I took Scarlett in for regurging I only paid $39, but vets around here typically run cheaper than they would in a city. Best thing to do is to call around and ask.

my corn had a small black thing on the roof of her mouth, it was hard but i scraped it and i came right off!! prob some moss in the viv. hey, how do you open a corn's mouth and check inside it? i feel like i am hurting them if i try....
