I'm moving from Wis. to Arizona in a few weeks any idea on how to move my corn? We are driving and can he stay outside under a patio now that we will be in warmer weather?

Sandi - are you talking about when you have to stay in a hotel overnight? If so I'd bring a critter keeper or some other small cage that your snake can stay in temporarily, but have access to water. Bag your snake when you're in the car during the day. I've brought many various things inside hotels without anyone saying anything (you'd think they'd see a big pretzel jar full of aquatic snails too). You can also try to find pet friendly hotels to stay in. I wouldn't leave him outside because you never know what might happen to him from local animals. You also aren't positive on how cold it will get and will add undue stress to your snake IMO.

I agree, Arizona temps can be pretty extreme. It does get cold at night and pretty warm in the day time. It would be better to keep it inside where you can regulate temps and weather conditions.
 
GODS NO! you will cook your snake. Its already getting up into the 110's here...so you will probably spend more energy keeping him cool than warm. I don't even turn the heat tape on for my corns in the summer. Trust me, its not needed.
 
I just wanted to add that during the summer, it doesn't get cold at night. It stays around the mid 90s at the least, and in mid july-august it'll spike an at average of 115-120.

Man that is Stinkin' HOT! Its mostly a dry heat over there right? Here its just SO MUGGY! I'd much rather be in dry heat than humid heat. Sticky and gross...yuck.
 
I had to move from new mexico to texas a few weeks about (1000 miles/15 hour drive) and I just put my corn in a rubbermaid container full of papertowels and airholes in the passanger seat. I had a heat pack under half of it too to keep the tempature in the 80s (i drive at night so it's cold). The snake was fine and doing good.

Yeah I hear you on that. I hate the heat, no matter what kind it is. UI used to live in Kankakee in Il, and I'll take 120s here with 5% humidity any day over mid 80s with 80% humidity.
 
Traveling

Well Im not a expert but when I travel or move with my snakes. I put them in small either deli cup or a container relative to the size of the particular snake. I then place them all in a bigger rubbermaid tub which is darker all with airholes and keep them with me at all times until I get to the destination. I found that if I just take and put them in seperate tubs and travel they slide all around with the movement of the car. In the deli cups in a darker bin or covered up they dont move around as much. I generally only do this each year at chirstmas time. When I go home from school for a few weeks. With a bigger collection this year moving them wont be possible so gonna need to find a babysitter! Ofcourse if you were going a long distance over a period of days and not a few hours. Water and heat would be a issue.
