got a new 55 gallon for my corn Amadeus. i just fed him for the first time after he regurgited last week. i was curious if i should do anything special to move him into the new tank? i am waiting until he has fully digested to move- should i wait a little longer to feed him once i move him in? he doesn't to stress easily, but he has been eating less recently. (was feeding two med-large mice a week, he's decided he wanted one a week instead- he's 3.5 ft, should i feed less/more?) anyways, i've been checking out other threads and he seems pretty hapy mostly, but if anyone has any tips to make this less stressful, i'd be thankful... :)

I would without a doubt wait until he's digested the meal before moving him. Especially if he upchucked the last meal, he might do it again with the stress of a new home. Then of course wait AT LEAST another few days before feeding him again. He's a big snake so realistically he can go weeks or months without food (not that it's healthy), but if you're worried about stressing him out, better safe than sorry.

So if you fed him yesterday (tues), move him say (I dunno?) friday or sat, then wait until late next week (or weekend) to feed again. Remember snakes need time for the stomach to heal after they puke up a meal. If you feed too soon, they can just get sick again. My advise would be to wait 7-10 days for the next feed (plus the stress of the move). At least that's what I would do... :)

Do you know why he regurged the last meal? I'd recommend waiting to add more stress until you can ensure that the cause of that regurge has been eliminated or corrected. Just my .02.

thanks. i'm not sure why he regurgitated last time. it may have been that i had a non-snake lover friend feed him. next time i leave him i'll get a better caretaker. Yesterday he defecated so i will be waiting a few days to move and feed him. thanks for the advice!
