My 'Hypo Sunglow' Boy

Drizzt - what would you suggest I breed him to?
Wow, tough call on that one. With Hypo's, it's best to have Normal hatchlings to compare to in the clutch. Even my adult Normals that look Hypo right now, looked very normal (and dark) as hatchlings. It's nice that he's a male cause you can kill two birds (or more) with one stone.

Personally, I'd breed him to a pair of Lavenders het Hypo . . . wait sorry 'bout that. :grin01:

I'd breed him to a known Hypo/Ghost/Coral Snow. If he's Hypo, you should get all Hypos. I'd also probably try to breed him to something that is het Hypo as you'd get a clutch with Normals as well about 1/2 Hypos for comparison (if he's Hypo). If he's het Hypo, either/both breedings would tell you that too. In the first pairing you'd get 1/2-ish Hypo's and in the second, instead of 1/2-ish Hypo's, you'd get 1/4-ish numbers. If you had access to a Coral Snow you'd also be able to test for Amel and Anery hets which I'd place one or the other or both showing up. :)

LOL how did I know you were going to say that?

I'll look for something het hypo....and we'll go from there

Only problem with this theory, is that there's no real white to have missing in a Hypo snake. The white found on an Amel snake is the location where the black pigment is found on a Normal. Sunglow (for the most part) means no white. That wouldn't work with a Hypo-looking normal unless Sunglow actually meant (or referred to) lacking borders (be they white or black).

Oh, DAH! My bad...of course I meant in this case it would be hypo without BLACK borders - which he isn't anyway, but you've got the idea.

Nice snake with a GREAT sounding name. Just listened to it and it is AWESOME!!! I love the way the guy says, it ... "Ahranchyoneh"!!! Too kewl.

Congrats on the name and the snake!
