Corn, King & Royals
Hes decided to go off his food again. I think hes under weight and under sized for his age now. Everything in his viv is fine, maybe its just what im feeding him?
My Corn has a jumbo mouse once a week and i give a leg and give some of the guts to the king which originally he ate fine. It saves a bit of money on buying lots of different sized mice.
What do you think. Should I try my king on some smaller whole mice?
I even tried wrapping mice in shed skins from my corn so he could smell the snake but it didnt work. what do you think i should do?
 
I personally think you should be feeding your king an appropriately sized whole mouse. I am not really sure why, if you can afford the initial cost of the king, the tank set-up, and the continuing costs of the heat and all, you cannot afford the cost of a single small pink/fuzzy mouse per week. Snakes need WHOLE prey... they need all of the nutrients found in those WHOLE prey items... guts and a leg?? Why do that to your snake? He is probably undersized because he's not getting appropriate meals. :shrugs: Just my $.02
 
First, how old and large is your kingsnake? Giving just a leg and some guts may not be enough, which is why your king is underweight.
