My new 9 mo Abbott's Okeetee!

How is he doing today?

He's right where he was when I left for work this morning...apparently under the log & aspen in the warm hide.

I am the proud owner of a tail! I wish he would come out!!!

Here are some pics:

When I saw those pictures I think I died a little on the inside.

lol, what?

i held him for just a bit, then fed him his first meal in my care tonight!! he struck at me a few times, but was generally good once he was out of the tank.

he ate a fuzzy and i know he is capable of hoppers, BUT i didn't want him to regurge!!!

he chomped that sucker right down!! struck at it twice, then i put the lid of the tupperware w/ towel over half and watched him suck it right down. now he's happily under his warm side log hide. no handling for me for a few days :(

here are some pics from today:

Hey Jen,
Aren't you the proud snake owner? LOL! You should be. Mannnnnnnn...he's beautiful. He makes me want mine realllllllllllll bad. For now I have to live vicariously through you. ;)

It took me over a month to finally name my snake. I named him Aevion. I'm not sure what kind of names you're looking for, the kind of names I like are unusual. I'll just list some random ones of every kind.

Jasper
Malus
Pan
Kalsifur
Lynal
Hmmm....I can't seem to come up with any right now. I hope those helped! :3

Thanks for the suggestions. I keep writing things down on a list & crossing off ones that I don't think fit him, but I am having a really hard time for some reason.

I added Colonel to my list today too... We'll see....

Oooh ok so I've decided on a name, finally! His name is Colonel Slithers. He is definitely an in-charge kinda guy.

Look for a progression thread soon hopefully! I'll try to get a scale within a few weeks.

Snake on a plane!

Bad lighting...I'll have to work on this shot.

Also, here is a better shot of him on the F-18, as well as a pic showing his belly checks!
