My new baby girl!

SunnyCorn

No Soup For You!!
I was grabbing some fuzzies for Sunny when I decided to check out the snakes they had. As soon as I had glanced and her, I WANTED her.

So I ended up buying another tank and the materials I needed, and brought her home. Here she is!! :dancer:

I think she might be a banded, but I'm not sure. Can you help me out?

This is Sunny, and Raven together. I just love how small she is compared to him. :crazy02:

She is a beautiful snakeys, however i dont see her being a banded corn but im not positive...congrats on the new baby :)

She's not banded. If she were her saddles would reach down all the way to her belly. She has a side pattern that's unconnected to her saddles. Do you see it? Do a search for banded snakes and you'll see the difference.

She sure has some really nice borders though! I think you're going to have a nice Look-atee (normal which resembles an Okeetee) on your hands.

One more thing.. my first two snakes, before I discovered the ease of ordering from the wonderful breeders on this site, were bought at petstores. They both turned out to be males. I can't say this will be true for all petstores but I'm guessing that the probability of a snake coming from a petstore will be male. That's just from my experience though. I'm not sure what kind of store it was that you bought from.

Good luck with your new snake! Nice pick up.

Yep, she isn't banded. I can see the difference. And thanks for the compliments guys. ^^ Your snakes are gorgeous as well.

I got her at a pet store yes, but they kept their males and females apart for some reason. With everypet there except mice. o_O There was raven and another, I'm not sure what she was, because I didn't get a good look at her. But yeah, I can see your point. But either way, if its a he or her, I love them.

They probably keep the animals seperate so they don't all breed. The mice they won't mind about, they might well cull them and freeze them ready to sell for snake food... :shrugs:

Anyway, nice purchase!

Aww, Raven is an awesome name! I named one of my breeder mice that. For some reason I just love the way it sounds.

Nice looking little one. She's going to be bright and look very Okeetee.

I would agree that a preponderance of snakes at pet stores are males, but I've found several females around and the ratio of the last nine of my own that I sold to a local pet store were 1.8. Still, I tend to think in the "pet stores get more males because breeders are dumping males for wholesale". Ball pythons are almost all males at pet stores.

i've picked up all my cornsnakes at a pet store - they sell kathy love's corns and kathy is kind enough to have them all sexed... so i get my choice of males or females ;)
