My new baby Otis

He is so cute and so sweet!!

I'm really hoping he is a boy, according to the breeder he is but I am not comfortable probing so who knows but yes he is an RO

Nicole

Who's the breeder? Doug K or ?

Yeah IMO it is much more dangerous to probe a hatchling than to pop. Due to the size of the probe it is easy to accidentally puncture through into the tail. Either is dangerous if your not experienced.

The breeder is Scott Libby in Embden, Maine. I have never heard of him before but I went and checked to see how his set up was and fell in love with this little guy!! I am definitely not experienced enough to probe so I guess I'll just have to wait and see

Nicole ...

Very pretty! Looks like Otis will have a lot of color as he ages! If the breeder said he was male he probably popped him so Otis probably is a male. If you know what you're doing (and I don't in this area!) you can pop a baby snake fairly easily. So let's stick with 'Otis' for now!

Name's familiar but can't place him.....???

Usually if their into breeding then they know how to pop so (like kdickens said) if he said it's a boy I'd go with it :)

I'm just a little skeptical because of his tail but I guess that's not the easiest or the most reliable obviously but I'm just gonna go with it and hope he is a male lol

Nicole

The tail shape is the least reliable method of sexing, especially with a youngster. Go with male until proved otherwise.
