Hi all,
I was just wondering..... Last nite my baby corn was VERY ACTIVE. He was all over his 40 gal tank. I sat in front of the tank for over 30 mins just watchin him. Now I know its recommended to wait a week before feeding, but friday gone was 7 days since his last feeding. And I only got him 3 days ago, <wednesday> So was he out lookin for food or just getting use to his new home or what. I was so cute and amazing to watch. This is my first snake. Actually its the first snake i have ever seen in person as well. lol He was rubbing up against thet thermometer also. He only shed about a week ago and he isnt' in blue, so is that normal. I have 4 hides scattered all over and in the cool side i have a few branched together with vines hanging down. This is where he spends all of his time at. So when I am ready to interact with him, what is the best way for me to get him. Tks all.
 
First. Congrats on your new baby!

If you've had him 3 days and he's roaming around I'd go ahead and try to feed him. Make sure your temps are correct and the warm side is about 85 degrees.

To pick him up, just go in and pick him up at about midbody, that will give him the support he needs to feel somewhat secure. Don't worry about him striking at you or biting you, as a new snake that very well may happen. Usually they won't, but just be prepared for it. A bite from a baby corn has been likened to the scrape of velcro on your skin, so not much to worry about.
