My New Corn - Vegas, Baby, Vegas

VegasGhost

I'M BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, I totally know that some of you are going to be totally jealous!!! LOL Here is my new girl, she is so beautiful! I got her from this other co-worker, she just became vegan about 6 months ago and the whole having to feed the snake some mice just got too much for her and her beliefs. Well, hey...it's nature, doesn't bother me none. I have never had a snake before and this was pretty much a blessing in disguise, because I can't have any dogs or cats where I live and I wanted a pet so bad. So, this is the truely cool thing....I GOT IT ALL FREE!!! I got a vivarium, a big ol' bag of bedding, over years worth of frozen mice, two hides, and don't forget the snake....all for free! That was the coolest thing! My snake, her name is Vegas, she is a little over three years old and was sold to my friend as a ghost corn...but I am now questioning that (since I know where it came from, I question almost everything, not a good place), I am even questioning if she is a she. But, at this point, until I get more...I don't care. So, here are some pictures attached and tell me what type of coloring she has...any input is appreciated! Thanks, Nicole (happiest new herp collector ever) :p

that is totally what I thought...after reading a lot on the net and in three different books....I totally think that the pet store scammed my friend...they charged her $150 for it. I went today to just check things out, conditions were terrible and I am never going there again, but I noticed that the anery corn snakes were only going for $100....either way...doesn't matter to me...she is beautiful to me, whatever she may be!

thanks - Nicole

Even $100.00 is too much for an anery!!! If your friend bought the snake as an adult, then it is an OK price, but not if your friend got her as a hatchling!!!

She bought the snake a little over a year ago when it had just turned 2. The same store today was selling hatchling anerys for $69

Your friend got ripped off, but all pet stores do that :(

(S)he is a beautiful anery. SHe looks just like mine, so i'm guessing that yours is an anery type B aka charcoal because anery A's usually have more clearly defined blotches and are not as charcoaly? Any way you have a gorgeous snake, Congrats! :)

aww

Your snake looks beautiful. ^^; If there's one thing I hate, it's bad pet shops. I've been there - bought a little dog, then it died 2 days later. Turns out it's shot record was fake but anyways...

Actually, I can't have cats or dogs where I live either, but I have my baby and thats all that matters. :)

thanks, she really is a beautiful! if you would have asked me three weeks ago if snakes were beautiful, I would have laughed in your face. But now, I am in love...have already set up to order two more from Kathy Love. At the rate I am going, I will have to kick my boyfriend out of the house in three months....lol :p

oh yeah, in response to a previous question, she is almost three and a half feet long!

I'd say that your snake is Anery type A. I can see a bit of yellow along the throat there, which is a good sign that it's type A. Charcoals rarely have yellow there. She also looks a lot like my anery A, Frank. A very nice looking anery you have there. :)
