Hi i just had my first corn for christmas it's an Hypo male and is feeding very well on hoppers every 5 days. He is a 2003 but i dont know exact date because i bought him for a petshop, but dont worry it's a very good one. He shed twice since.

here is a couple of pics i took :

After is first shed (he had some trouble with it) :

This is last meal he ate (first hopper and first constriction !) :

Last weekend i went to a reptile show and guess what i found ? I saw my snakes parents !!! guess how lucky i am. I'm sure they are because the guy was the only one to sell hypos to the pet shop in the time i bought mine and they both look the smae so i'm 99.99% sure they are parents.

i took a couple of pics, here they are :
Btw there is a male and a female in the tank, but one i hidden in the substrate but they both look the same :

I'm very happy to see how mine snake is gonna turn out. Can anyone tell me if my Hypo is any kind of special hypo (like sunkissed, sunglow, etc) or is he just a "normal" hypo

Seeing how he will turn out as an adult i think will all that red and orange and i guess that breeding him to a female bloodred would make amazing result

I don't know what he is Het for, but maybe he is het for Motley because the starting pattern are almost motley, and if you look at the second picture of the parent you can see that he as like 2 circles ...

anyway i hope you enjoyed my pictures

Congratulations and welcome to the forum....

You have a beautiful little hypo there, but as to what "type" of hypo he is, I cant say. I can tell you that pretty much all corns exhibit the circular motley-like pattern near their heads, some more so than others. I would be cautious about assuming he is het motley unless one of the parents were definitely motley. One of the ways to determine a motley for sure is to look at its belly pattern. Motleys do not display the checkered bellies like other corns, instead it should be a plain white belly with no markings.

Either way I hope you enjoy your new friend...

Welcome to the forum~
That's a very nice looking hypo corn you have there. I am also glad that you know what you're doing. Feeding in a separate container, giving it a little wet box to soak in when it's having shedding problems.

Your hypo looks to me like a normal hypo. Those lava, ultra, trans and all those new hypos are properly still in the US....we up here in Canada don't have that much morphs yet...lol....

Joje126 is right. Don't assume your hypo is het for motley. Cause you can't be sure unless you know what the parents are. It could be that both parents are het for motley or one parent is het for motley, thus your little one COULD BE het too. But you wont know unless you have breeding trails~ so don't assume it.

Anyway a very nice corn there and hope that you'll find this forum a great help~

ok thanks

I called the pet shop very often to know what i was doing, i wanted to be sure that everything is perfect

What do you think about mating him to a female Bloodred ?

Would it make good results or what other morph i could breed im too to make something great ?

it's not my tanks, the last 2 picture are from a reptile show i went where i saw my snakes parents
