My "Normal" Corn snake - Calypso

I've been commenting on other peoples post but haven't uploaded any images of my pets yet, so I figured it was time for me to do so...

Below is my corn snake - Calypso - normal morph. I have a few photos included. He/she is my first snake and I got him/her about 4 years ago. I'm not sure if the snake is a boy or girl - any educated guesses would be most helpful! I'm not planning on breeding him/her as he/she was a Petco purchase, but I'm curious and want to be prepared if I may need to setup a lay box for any potential slugs...

This first one is a few months after I got him/her...

I need to get a second hide box - but he/she seems to really, really like the rock......

He/she wasn't being co-operative at holding very still...always been a bit..flighty...but this is the best photo I could get of the tail...

My guess is female. You could try a paper towel tube- those are almost universally loved by cornsnakes.

Thanks everyone!!! I'm glad she's calmed down over the past year so I can have her hold still long enough to get a picture - started out as a little hatling - tail rattles, did not want to be touched/picked up/messed with - always been a champ at eating, has never refused a meal...(yes, feeding f/t)

Something that works for me with snakes that won't hold still is to put them in a (low) tree. Another trick is to set them down on your surface, and cover them with a bowl or hide for a few minutes. Get ready, and remove the cover. They usually hold still for long enough to get some pics!

I will try the bowl/cover trick next time...thanks for the tip :) I'd be far to nervous to bring her outdoors for a tree photo...
