My Snake

Here are some pictures of my new snake... I'm not sure if its a male or female, but I named it Samuel (as in L. Jackson)

I think he is a normal.. can anyone verify that.. and maybe a guess on its age. I found it slithering around my house one day, and I thought it was adorable, so I decided to keep it. :)

Right now he is in a 10 gallon tank... when he gets bigger I'll put him in a 20 long, I know a 10 is a little large for him, but I figured he will grow into it pretty soon

you may already know all this, and if so disregard this post.

that said, you will need to make sure that he is comfortable eating in captivity if he was wild caught. its not uncommon for wild caught snakes to stop eating in captivity. also, you need to make sure to have lots of hiding spots in a tank that big for a snake that small.

i dont want to rain on the parade, but for the safety and comfort of the snake, i wanted to let you know.

cute little snake btw.

yes, I'm putting little things in there as I go, right now he has 3 hides, I'll add 1 or two more... I agree 100%, his comfort is #1 for me, I haven't tried to handle him yet, because I don't want to stress him out anymore then I have already.

I know wild caught can refuse to eat, but being that he is so little, I'm hoping that gives him a better chance to convert, if he doesn't eat anything the next 2 times I try I'll let him go in the forrest and get one from a breeder. I hope he does I like my snake

Beautiful little wc normal! And since it has been mentioned, you should have no difference in the effort to get a wc hatchling to eat as a cb hatchling. For either, it is best to feed it in a much smaller container instead of it's much larger viv. The 10 gallon tank should be a good size for the next year or more so no rush to get the 20 gallon.
