My Snakes Think I'm Crazy!

Susan

Go Ahead, Make My Day!
Yup...they think I've either totally lost my mind, or I'm trying to sneak something "bad" past them. I really can't remember the last time I had to feed an adult more than one prey item...and they can't remember either. But today, I had to give some of them 2 smaller mice each as I just didn't have enough bigger ones.

They all took the first one with their usual gusto, but when offered the second, I got the strangest looks from them! Each one approached the second mouse very slowly, eyed it from different angles, then looked at me for a moment asking "What...more? Are you nuts?" Some then immediately grabbed their dessert and almost ran away with it as if saying "OK, stupid! You already fed me, but it's mine now so don't even think about realizing your mistake and taking it back!"

The others, however, checked out the second meal a little longer and then went off mumbling under their breath "NO WAY, Jose! I'm not falling for that old trick! You can go ahead and KEEP whatever it is you put in that thing! I'm not eating it!" I've left mouse #2 in their tubs with them, just in case they change their minds....but I doubt it! Of course, they have yet to realize that medicine always goes in the first mouse, never the second...but please...don't tell them that!

:roflmao: Those are the kind that I like best.

Same thing happened to me tonight. I just bumped some of the little ones up to 2 pinks and they looked at me funny when the second one came in. They all ate though.

Cute story! mine do that too...when i fed Aidan the other day, i put 2 pinks in his tub. he ate one and then decided to go hide under the papertowel. i waited a few minutes then gently lifted up the papertowl and held the other pinky out for him. he looked at me, then at the pink then back at me...like "hey i just ate that?!? how'd you get it back?" then he decided to eat it.
usually i just put two pinks in there with them, one on either side of the tub so they find them as they're cruising around the perimeter of the tub.

That is a funny story. I can picture how cute it is when they look up at you all confused haha.
