My tiny girl

Hi all. I got my first baby corn on the 18th of last month. She was 7 grams on the 22nd. I weighed her today and she is only 8 g. She has taken 3 meals so far. She didn't want to eat at first but now she is on a day old mouse every 5 days. I think she looks ok, but she is so small it is hard for me to tell. She was hatched on 7/23 (I think). Is it normal for babies to be this small at this age?

It sounds like she is doing fine. They usually take off once they are up to fuzzies. But some are just slow growers.

I hope others with more experience will speak up.

She sounds fine to me. If a red weighs 1 or 2 grams, and the snake only gains 1/3 of the weight of the prey, it takes a long time to grow even one or two grams!

If you cut tiny slits in the head and back of the pink, it will be easier to digest and the baby will grow faster. And you can look at the diameter of the snake at the widest part, and feed a pink that is the same or just slightly wider. After a couple three meals of reds, the snake should be able to handle a very slightly larger pink.

Thanks so much. I am so used to ball pythons, that a corn is so small. My baby ball gained 70g in 1.5 weeks. SO, one g is almost nothing :p I am sure I will be back with more questions.
