No one ever said they are invalid subspecies. YOU put those words into others mouths. Joe is simply looking up answers to all your questions about the rat snakes. I don't know about the crossing of everglades rat and corn, but I do know that the rat snakes in the wild will intergrate, simply because their populations overlap. For all we know there could be rat snakes that have backgrounds in everglades, yellows, black, and greys, simply because different populations cross over others, and then one intergrade breeds with another and then you have something that looks a little like all rat snakes. This situation is highly inunlikely, but is it impossible?? I don't think so.

Just to let you thease snakes have more than backrounds in ratsnakes they are ratsnakes corns are guttata ,ratsnakes are obsoleta that includes everglades, yellows, black, and greys I posted what you said in the last post read below;
