Here's the scoop:

Clutch: 12 normals, 3 amels, 1 snow, 2 "oddballs"

No aneries, no hypos.

Any guesses?

my guess is that the top one is very very sick and in strict need of an envrionment that can only be found in the SE united states, preferably eastern North Carolina. Email me and i'll give you the details and address on where to send it.

all jokes aside, i have no clue but it's an awesome looking snake

Hum...
kind of looks like an opal

but I have seen amels that are born like that, but with a few sheds the red pigments kicks right in.

Keep it back and see how it turns out later on.

I wont be surprised if they're just normal amels~

I am not an "expert" by any means, but looking at what the parents were,(maybe the mom is carrying hypo also) and the looks of the hatchling, could that snake possibly be a coral or "hypo" snow? Maybe someone else can clarify for you. Whtever it is, it sure is pretty. Those 2 "oddballs" would definately be keepers in my book, just to see what they turn out like. Congrats and good luck!!!

As I posted elsewhere, I'm betting it's just one of those late-blooming amels... it doesn't look right for a recently-hatched opal... atleast not to me.

Another possiblity to consider is that they may be hypo amels - homozygous for both hypo and amel. Some people have suggested that the combination results in these amels that are late to develop color. Suprising that you did not get any hypos in the clutch if that was the case, but could happen - you didn't get anerys either and you would have expected some.

look forward to seeing what they grow up to look like.

If you look closely it looks like an amel hiding under an opaque shed. I've seen what others have mentioned (the "snow-looking amels) and had some hatch with an extremely thick shed on them, even a few requiring assistance with the first shed.

Let us know what they look like after they've shed. :)

Anyway:
Mom: Amel proven het anery
Dad: Hypo proven het Anery

Clutch: 12 normals, 3 amels, 1 snow, 2 "oddballs"
Mom: definitely het anery and probably not het hypo.
Dad: definitely het amel and anery.

No aneries, no hypos.
The snow is an anery. ;)

Trust ME

:devil01: YESSSSSSSSSSSSS TRUUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSSSSSSST ME

This animal is extremely Dangerous "So Pirate55" was close to right but not quite. If you keep that dangerous animal it will eat you and your family then all the corn snakes in the world. If you destroy it then it will come back as a ghost.

The only safe thing to do is put it in a hypermeganalisticreversehydroatingthermoregulator chamber and keep it there. I happen to have the only one in existance! :dancer:

So box them up and send them to me now in Arlington Texas (email me for my exact address I have to protect my hypermeganalisticreversehydroatingthermoregulator chamber from the aliens :boring: )

I've had numerous amels hatch out looking like that, they all turned out to be normal looking amels. I still always hold on to them until they start looking like every other amel.

Thanks everyone for the thoughts and comments, I'll keep you all posted as they grow up, and yes, I'm planning on keeping them until I find out what they are...
