To me, the top one looks like either a caramel or an anery A, and the bottom one looks like a normal. I may be wrong on the top one, but others will let you know for sure. Nice snakes, though!

Top one looks very much like my Anery 'A' but could be a ghost (only breeding it to a compatible mate will tell you that.

Bottom one is a normal (a pretty one at that) and seems to have a marking on it's back called 'Aztec'.

Good looking snakes you have there, well done!

I didnt even notice the aztec markings on the normal. Good pickup.

I agree, the top looks like an Anery, but is also could very easily be a ghost. These things are impossible to tell from sight alone, so you'll only be able to truely tell through breeding.

What are my snakes?

Thanks to your responses, I wasn't sure about my male Anery "A" What does the A stand for? He has some nice yellow on him. He is 3 I think at least that is what I was told and he just finished shedding. His name is Mojhove. Sweet sweet boy.
My female is suppose to be 1 year old she just finished shedding too. I choose her because I had a wild corn that was dropped by a hawk that looked like her only much larger he was blind for some reason. So she has an Aztec pattern??? Her name is Arizona. She is the cutiest thing also a very sweet sweet snake.
I enjoy them so! So does my grandson who is 7. These are the first domestic snakes I have ever owned all of my other ones have come to me because the were sick or injured in the wild.

????I gave Arizona a small mouse she ate it nana second killed it not problem begged for more gave her another, little one killed it zap ate it in a heartbeat. Now she is afraid of them. All she want is to kill them and leave them. She will eat pinkies. Any one have this problem??? Was it because she was going to molt in a week or so? Is it she is afraid of them or is she having a second child hood?? :shrugs:
Thanks, ~Sherry

Anery is short for Anerthrystic which means lacking all red/orange pigment. Obviously, you come out with a snake that is usually all black, but does quite frequently have a fair amount of yellow around the head and down the neck.

Anery A is just the normal anery type. There is an Anery B, which is now referred to as charcoal.

I dont really understand your question.

How often are you trying to feed Arizona? Two mice at once for a year old snake might be a bit much. That mouse you're feeding her in the picture seems a bit big for her....

Next time you feed her you might want to try a hopper and see if that works.

Your normal looks too small to eat a full grown mouse. If she ate one, then that's all she needs. If it was me, I'd be probably be feeding her hopper mice instead.

My snakes food

I thought that the mouse was way to big for her. She ate it no problem no regurge. She was eating 2 large fuzzies 2 x's a week at the pet store they said. I will see if I can find hoppers. I live in a Very mouse deprived area, PETA will sell you one for $4.50 :sidestep: but you can"t mention the word snake. I bought 4 females and a male to raise that way I can look out of my window and see if the PETA police are coming. Until then :shrugs: Where do you all get your mice?? My lizards use to eat rats they were more attainable. What else can I feed them? I know I will get back into the lizards so might as well get the food supply down right now. I hate raising mice and rats :puke01: They are nasty and they stink! I wonder if I could spray them with perfume.
I feed Arizona 2 pinkies last Saturday (You have no idea what I had to go through to get those and they were dead!) then she molted. I know she is hungry. Do you think she will be ok until this Saturday?
Thanks,
Sherry

4 large fuzzies a week seems like way too much food, if you ask me.

I've got a pair of yearlings plus a few months and they're on SMALL adult mice, much smaller than what's in your picture there. I would like the hoppers but the pet store doesn't sell them (pinkies, fuzzies, adults), there's no hopper, weanling, etc.

Anyway, both of my corns get one small mouse a week, and they're content with that. Dont judge if your snake is hungry if you see it cruising around after it just ate the mouse. There is no way that your normal should be pounding down fully grown adult mice and then still be hungry.

Breeding mice isn't all that bad, as long as you use a good substrate. Might want to try aspen pellets or something that really absorbs odor and wetness. If mice are that hard to find, you might want to consider doing this and just letting them all grow up to the hopper size and killing them all and freezing them at that stage. I'll be doing that again shortly, especially since I just added 3 more snakes to the collecting and more will surely follow. I cant afford to be spending $12 a week on mice at the petstore.

One other thing. I feel like an ass for correcting you, but it's just a pet peeve. Snakes dont molt, insects do. I know you know that because in your earlier post you said about your other one shedding, but I just had to say something. Sorry.

I'd say just try to find some hoppers and go from there. One big hopper a week is plenty for your normal there. And she'd be fine without food for a few weeks, so going a week one a pinky is just fine, no worries at all.

Hope that helps.
