So, I've been wondering about some of yall's names for a while now. I don't know how to pronounce a lot of them, and I can try to figure it out and stuff, but I'd rather just know and be done with it.

So, post how to pronounce your name, and the meaning behind it. Even if it's the most simple thing in the whole world, clarity sometimes doesn't come without thorough explanation!

My name :Corny_gurl333. Pronunciation is self explanatory, and the meaning behind it is, I didn't know what else to call myself! I didn't have a corn yet, so I couldn't base my name off of their name. The 333 at the end is because 3 is my favorite number, my birth number, and my lucky number, and I'm kinda neurotic about 3s. When I'm listening to the radio or something, the volume has to be set to a number divisible by three or I don't feel right somehow. I know I'm wierd...but that's my explanation!

Greeling (GREE-ling) got it out of the Dr. Suess book "Theres a Wocket in my Pocket" i just figured i was too old (and it seemed kinda inaproppriate for these kinds of forums anyway lol) for my old name "Pinky The Blue Flamingo" tho i still use it on my xanga and A4 but ya know whatever lol

Dang that's some serious OCD... :roflmao: I'm Capt Bogart the selfish pirate... My bounty consists of external drives overflowing with programs, mp3's, movies, pictures, etc... and caches of.... :)

I'm Bobo's Mama because..... I'm Bobo's Mama!!!!! Boob was my only corn when I first signed up for this forum so it just kind of stuck, and I will always be Bobo's Mama so I think I won't change it. He's my favorite corn in the whole world!

My user name is Hurley...perhaps for my favorite clothing line, which was started by my cousin, Elizabeth Hurley...

...or it could just be because it's my last name. :D

well my name is the name of my first snake, deciesed, and it is from my personal favorite greek myth( i know its spelt wrong :nope: )

marty.warwick .. Might be, THE most boring and unimaginative user name in existance on this forum lol. It is simply because I am THE Marty Warwick :)

:-offtopic I went to the same college as Liz Hurley, she lived in Basingstoke - small town couple miles away.

I was at a museum once and they had a display case with crackerjack toys from over the years. One of the toys was some kind of finger puppet or something. I don't remember exactly what it was. Some kind of gross-looking old man, and it said Slippery Ernie on it. I thought it was strange.

I went with BryanC because my name is Bryan Corning. :)

I was goingto use Cleppa but I am saving that for my license plate. :sidestep:

oh back on topic...my name. well, when i was a kid in school i played softball and a few other sports too. and my parents had given me a name that everyone would mispronounce. it's not a bad name, Kirsten. but as you can imagine, i got called everything that sounded remotely like it. and it didnt help that a lot of other girls in my class were named christina or kristen. and my coaches, teachers and teammates would get frustrated when i wouldnt answer them. anyway, my softball coach would always tell me to "go get em tiger!" cheesy i know, but Felix was a good coach. eventually, all my teammates would parrot the coach. everytime i went up to bat or took my position, they'd say "go get em tiger". eventually, everyone at school would call me "lil tiger" or just "tiger". when i went to go set up my email accts and stuff with AOL for college, someone already had Tiger. so i changed the "i" to a "y" and the 9791 is 1979 backwards, my birth year. and i've used it ever since. and even today, i get referred to as Tyger in the office when we get someone with a name close to mine. it just eliminates confusion. funny name for a girl, but it works.

Taceas (Tuh-kay-us).

Variation of the Latin, tacete, meaning 'shut up' or 'be quiet'. Taceas literally means, "You, shut up".

I was always a good student and never got in trouble. Except for one fateful day, the kid behind me in 3rd year Latin asked me a question during a lecture and the teacher turned around and yelled "taceas!" glaring right at me. And ever since then, it stuck.

More of an oxymoron of sorts, as like I said, I was always quiet in class. But get in trouble once and you get a new name.

At least I have the benefit of being the only Taceas I've ever encountered online. So if you see the name elsewhere, its prolly me afterall.

LUBU is a name I stole from a ps2 game called dynasty warriors. Couldnt think of anything better at the time.

:eek1: I've been mispronouncing your nickname the whole time! I love the meaning. And I'm not trying to be mean, but .... it suits you:grin01:
