Well as I had thought, the only pet store in my town is Petsmart...and the petsmart here doesnt even sell pinks!!! Not even frozen. ugh! So now I guess I have to find a source online, which I had planned to do, but thought I could go a few weeks with locally bought pinks.

So, I need advice on an online site to buy for my baby cornsnake. I read the post a while back about online sites, but their shipping was so expensive that it detoured me from ordering. I only have one snake, and WILL only have one snake until I move to a house...

So what should I do? What site would give the best deal for a not so large order. I think my roommates would be pretty pissed if I put 100 pinks in the freezer, and my mini fridge's freezer section doesnt work consistently, I'd be scared they'd start decomposing.

Any help would be great...Im going to need to put in an order like today or else Im going to have a hungry snake. He'll be here within the hour!!!! yay!

rodentpro.com

personally i use rodentpro.com. i recently ordered 100 pinks and my total was $36 with shipping. still beats the $1.50 i'd have to pay PER pink at our local pet store.

they do, however, have a minimum order of 100. which could be a problem if you're looking for a smaller quantity. maybe some other places have smaller minimum orders, but i don't know if you'll find any cheaper shipping as they have to be expedited due to being frozen.

here's a link to another thread with a poll and discussion about frozen suppliers. hopefully you can find someplace to suit your needs!

good luck!

I had a somewhat similar problem with only 1 snake buying online just isnt cost effective (due to shipping costs). I went to knigsnake.com they have a list of feeder companies. I checked several until i cam across few within driving distance, i then contacted them to see if they allowed pickups. Two did but one had a $50 minimum order.....I guess you know which one i chose.
You may wanna list where you live that way if someone knows of a supplier close to u they can recommend them. GOOD LUCK

You could see if there are any other herp people around you that would amke an order too and you could split the shipping cost.

You could check at a local herp show also. Some of the ones I attend there are people selling frodents.

As for the room mates, just put liver and onions on the container and it'll be left alone. :grin01:

Im in Logan, UT....its not exactly a big city :shrugs:

I will have to search around that last food post and see if I can find a site that will work for me.

I dont know anyone else with snakes...so...

I also got a quote today from Five Star Rodents and I can get 50 pinks and 50 fuzzies for 36.00 shipped. They also come vacuum sealed. You could always look towards them...

I just started using big cheese rodent factory and I'm pretty impressed with them.

Oh yeah, and I only have one snake too...buying in bulk (even if its just 50) definitely beats the cost of buying them live and individually from local sources.

I encountered the same thing, one snake nothing close...middle of AK. Anyway used themousefactory; I made sure I got a good variety of mice (fuz-adult). I got about a years worth, made their bulk purchase limit since it's number of mice any size. They came vac-sealed to last in the freezer. They weren't the cheapest but had smaller quantities per package for a growing snake. Besides they weren’t much more than other online dealers and a lot cheaper and easier then driving a long distance to a pet store that might or might not have what I need. I have a vac-sealer and I repackage mice once I have to get into the package. Very impressed with the mice and will be ordering from them again next year.
