:-offtopic By the way poisen dart frogs in captivity aren't dangerous. Something they eat in the wild creates the toxin in their skin, so when in captivity the toxin isn't created and they're just really pretty non poisenous frogs.

Oh, and Tyflier, you mentioned locks for the visionarium cages. Where can I get those?

Thanks for going to the trouble to try and fish it up for us. It sounds perfect--and a 29 gallon turned on its side would be the absolute perfect dimensions for the piece of furniture I want to put it on top of.

That looks great! I've noticed, though, that they are all turned vertical--is there any reason why you couldn't set it lengthwise and still use the same insert? Thanks!
 
None what so ever. You can turn the cage any way you want, vertical (like the pic's), door on top, door on the side (opening up or down). These were originally made for vertical tanks for arboreal Poison Dart Frogs.
 
Cool! Thanks! I really appreciate your hunting that down for us. I may well invest in one, although it looks like the price is only a few bucks cheaper than a Visionarium... I wonder about shipping, though?

Anyway, thanks so very much. I didn't even know these exist, and it may be just exactly what I want. :)

I'm a little confused. These all look great, but are they just tops that you attach to a tank or are they whole tanks? And where can I actually BUY them. What am I missing?

Well, both. FCA does make cages, but my pic's are of "tops" that are siliconed(SP?) on, and become a part of, standard aquariums. Here is a link to FCA .There web site could use a little, ok, a lot of work. lol
 
I just found these. They seem to be pretty high speed. They are pricy though.

I still think i am going to go with a Visionarium because of the price. Also i talked to the breeder. I am getting a Motley Striped Corn. The breeders name is Don Soderberg. :cheers:
 
I think I've seen those before, b ut I have no way of buying $225 dollar cages at the moment. The design's great though!!
 
Yeah... I've recently discovered the magic that is sterilite tubs. $10 or less caging with okay visibility.
 
i am only going to have one snake at the moment, and i would like something that will be visually appealing as well as functional. Visionariums seem to meet that very well.
 
Ya, mines finally in use and working well. 3 problems with them, though, although all can be fixed.

1. There is no hole in the cage for a wire to go into the cage for a probe of a thermometer or a thermostat. The only way to let a cord in is to drill a hole, as far as I can tell.

2. the doors do not lock. I keep hearing about locks you can buy, but where? We are going to use small dowels to brase the doors shut for the moment.

3. The bottom of the cage ahs riges near the edge so a standard heat mat like a zoomed one doesn't fit right onto the cage. It ends up sticking up away from the cage near the edges. Flex watt should work though, if you get the right width.

I love the cage, but these things are a little annoying, but really none pose a serious problem. I'm definitely going to get more of these cages for new corns.
