Hi,
How many hides do you have in his viv.? There should be at least 2. One on the cool side and one on the warm side.
What is the temp. in the room? If the room is air conditioned it could be trying to keep warm. Or it could just like it there.
You should remember that Corns are nocturnal so they are most active at night. So when you are asleep he is all over the place.
I hope that helps.

i have a rock for it to hide behind in the hot spot and a log for it to hind in the cold spot. i got a day light in the cold spot and it's bout 80. and i got a black light like light that i keep on all the time in the hot spot.

Most people recommend leaving a snake alone for 48 hours after its meal.

If he's that new and he sounds like a hatching, you shouldn't handle him every single day. Well you can, but it stresses him out. Think about it: He's in a brand new environment and your taking him out every day when he's trying to sleep isn't going to help him calm down. I handle my newest hatchling once every 3 or 4 days and my slightly older hatchlings every other day.

Corns are most active at dusk and dawn and they usually stay up all night. Try handling him then instead of during the day when he is sleeping.

Good luck with your snow. Does he have a name?

wow thanks so much i never thought bout she might be stresssed. I not hold her so much. yea i think it is a hatchling it's name is sheba. every morning when i wake up she pokes her head out and looks at me till i leave the room.

Stressed snow

If you have your snake in a vivarium setting, then (like the person said in a previous reply) you should provide two hides for it. I have several corns and have them on newspaper substrate, and normally they don't even spend much time in their hides, they choose to sleep under the paper, and they can choose which area of the cage is most comfortable. It sounds like the snake just needs some time to adjust to its environment. I also believe that too many people place their corns (as babies, or yearlings) in enclosures that are really too big for them. The snake wants to feel secure in its home, and dropping a neonate or youngster in a ten gallon aquarium is probably not the best thing to do. Good luck!
Sincerely,
Vedica

if you would like to see some pictures of it i'll put some up in the gallary tomarrow i'll also put some of it's home also.

My snakes drink spring water (Poland Spring) but any generic brand will do. I'm almost certain that I've read somewehre that the chlorine in tap water isn't good for babies.

Sheba is a cute name

YOU SHOULD NOT HANDLE THE SNAKE FOR AT LEAST 24 HOURS AFTER SHE EATS I IKE TO WAIT 48 HOURS JUST TO BE SAFE YOU MAY CAUSE HER TO REGERG. ALSO TRY NOT TO HANDLE HER WHEN SHE'S SHEDDING THEY GET KIND OF JUMPY. REMEMBER TO ASK ALOT OF QUESTIONS. THEIR ARE NO DUMB QUESTIONS THE PEOPLE ON THIS SITE ARE GREAT. GOOD LUCK AND WELCOME
