I'll give it a try!
As Comox said, feed each snake a food item which is no more than one and a half times as wide as its body. The size of the food is related to the size of the snake.
The food should leave a visible lump in the body for 24-48 hours after feeding.
When the lump goes down within 24 hours, it's time to move up to the next sized food item.
This goes on until the Corn is eating adult mice, at which point you don't need to feed it anything larger for the rest of its life.
The bigger the food item, the less often you should feed. Bigger food takes longer to digest, so they need longer between feeds.
My feeding intervals are:
- One pinky every 4-5 days
- One fuzzy every 5-7 days
- One small mouse every 7 days
- One medium mouse every 10 days
- One adult mouse every 14 days (sometimes longer if they're getting flabby)
Everyone has their own preferred feeding routine and that's just what I do. The only scenario you really need to watch out for, is feeding too much and/or too often, and ending up with a fat snake.
