Hi again! just wanna find out if i should put a light in the corns tank??? my bedroom in not really that bright????? and should the light be covered?? (with wire or mess?? i got a 30wat bulb in not that bright... And would a wooden cover(lid) be ok 4 tank??? i put holes in the lid.. :)

A light is not realy necesary- as a under tank heater is overall better. But if you want a light for heat or just to make the terrarium look nice- the bulb should definetly be covered by a screen to prevent the snake from burning itself on the hot bulb.

Have you gotten the Cornsnake Manual by Kathy Love? It's a great overall reference on cornsnake care.

do not ever, ever, ever put light "in" the tank. Light bulbs (of any wattage) and heat rocks can severely burn your reptile.

I keep all of my lighting on top of the screen top and the bulbs are inside the lamp hood and never closer than 3" from the screen.

Light is good otherwise :)
