Wanted: Jasper Co Okeetee
Hello All,

I plan on bringing lil "Chilly" to the show in Philly on Sunday to get sexed. He ate last Wednesday and again last Friday (small live pinks). When is the latest day I should feed him before I take him out on Sunday? :shrugs:

I was thinking of feeding him 2 small ones tommorrow. (Wed) I think he should be fine by Sunday.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Hope to see some people on Sunday! :crazy02:

if you feed on Wed. you should be fine for Sunday
have fun at the show :santa:

Personally, i'd say 5 or 6. Depending on how long it takes for your snake to digest and pass all of the mice. I've seen corns on sale while they were crawling around their own pooh. It's not harmfull, just gross. For the snake and for the potential buyer who would like to hold him.

i'm doing the same...

thing, taking the norb to be sexed at the show on saturday. he had such a big meal last friday, i might give him a pinkie on thursday or i might wait until sunday. he regurgitates when he's stressed, i don't want him to get car sick.

The only show I've ever been to had a sign on the door saying you couldn't bring any of your own animals in. What are you going to do if they don't let you bring them in?

I'm pretty sure...

they won't let you bring animals in, but I plan to put Norbert in my back pack. The breeder who is going to probe him told me she would come to the door with me and do the sexing there. I don't plan to stay long, I'm just gonna go in, get him sexed, get a new snake, get my manual signed, help my friend find some information for her classroom and bounce. If I think it will stress my current snake I will leave him at home. I will see how he is doing in terms of digestion and shedding on Friday night and go from there. I'd much rather have the process done for free then go to a vet. I can't carry him in the open and be told that I can't bring him into the show, he's better off hidden away then stuck in my car in the bitter cold.

I emailed someone who is running the show and they said I could bring him/her in to get sexed. They said to see either Bob or Brian at check in so they can walk me in....I guess that means I have to leave right away after this is done? I emailed them back to see If I have to leave right away...

I will let you know what they say....

sounds like a plan...

i would guess they will escort you, let you get it sexed and then bring you back out, have you pay for admission and hopefully hold the snake for you while you explore. hopefully. i'll take the more honest and less strenuous root and do the same thing. if worse comes to worse i will stay out in the lobby with my snake while my friend goes in and then have her hold on to him while i go in. i have a snake on hold so all i really need to do is pick up the new hatchling, but i'd like to hang out for a while and check out the whole show. i'll probably just end up spending too much money, but that's a given.
