But, I dont think we need to argue about this anymore :) I have no harsh feelings. It isnt right to judge people based on their opinion. That would be silly. Anyways, I hope we can still get along Morrigan. I am glad you care about animals so much. I think that goes for everyone here too. Why would this site exist if we didnt?

I think that's an excellent attitude to have, and I have a great amount of respect for you because of it.

As for your snake, he'd likely be less hungry when he's getting ready to shed. Give him a few days to digest what he's had, and see if he sheds. After shedding he'll likely be very hungry. Good luck with him.

not

To mention that slandering a store by name in a public forum can bring trouble, and other problems to the forum. There are websites FOR THIS. Which is why Dartguy said this does not belong here. Because it creates problems for the owners of sites like this.

But of course we are all uneducated and "shallow" You know, I have only had snakes and been in the reptile communtiy for a day now! *LOL*

Do you have PetCo's in Canada or other non-U.S. countries? You may be unaware that most of the issues Morrigan mentioned have been in the news in various places already. It's hardly slander or libel to mention them here. While it is not accurate to judge all Petco's based on knowledge of only some, Morrigan does have a point. Many PetCo's are known to treat reptiles badly, probably because of ignorance in most cases. While the company may have very good policies, there needs to be some work on enforcing these policies in the individual stores. I believe PetCo may be working on that, but, to my knowledge, the examples that Morrigan mentioned are true.

?

You know what? I dont know :) I think there are only Petcos in the U.S. Oh, and I know its been in the news. but only some is true from what I know anyway. Which is bad enough, and is getting fixed. And I agree that all are not as great as some. But, lets get back to talking about our snakes :) Have a good night guys!

*let's quit beatin the dead horse ;)

maybe petco does have problems but if you all read in the beginning morrigans very first response was

PETCO IS EVIL

and then

Petco treats their animals horribly, and I'd never shop there. Supporting them means supporting animal cruelty.

not once did he offer any advice to turtlez until his last post
then he truned his attack on the rest of us by name calling

uneducated and shallow.

man

If you can do nothing but irrationally try and make people listen to you, and then try and tell me I am stupid. You really are not someone I want to talk to. My last post on this

Interjecting one more time to beat that dead horse...

Morigan, the reason that people "attacked your opinions" is because they are somewhat innacurate. Some were derived by extremely faulty logic and PETA propoganda (nothing ethical about PETA).

Rather than address the issue at hand, you insinuated that Turlez was not a "real animal lover".

Those who came to her defense were labeled as "uneducated and shallow" for disagreeing with you. That would indeed be a case of the pot calling th kettle black, if you sincerely believed that to be true.

There are bad Petcos, just as there are good ones. A generalization about the entire chain cannot be made from experience with just a handful of stores. That is known as the fallacy of composition.

Now then, let's get off this little tangent, and get back to the topic at hand- snakes.

i live in england so i have had no previous encounters with this company "petco" but as with a small majority of pet shops some are only out there to make themsevles money others are not and do genuinly care about the animals that they house.

i would never ever in a million years condone crulety to aminals but im pretty sure as in england there are people in america that have been crule to aminals and there are people who have the power to stop this such as the RSPCA and the NCDL and the BLUE CROSS .

if there is a PETCO near you that you fell is not doing its job properly then report them but you cannot put all people/shops in one basket.

i personally think that petshops are given to much freedom to buy aniamls and house them in store without the correct facilities needed to care for them properly, and also when people buy from petstores generally incorrect information is being given to the customer

there is no reason to start boycotting PETCO or any other petstore if you feel there is a problem report it.

this website is to post opinons and help others that share an interest not to attack people because of where they work!

if there were no petstores where would you get the things needed to care for you animals??

the laws do need to be changed people should have licences to own dogs and cats and petshops should have regular inspections and also have to apply for a yearly license to keep pets and sell them but this would be a big job.

oh well just my opinion!!:D
