New baby

Yay i picked up my new baby today. She is a cute little Carolina Corn. Well i think she is cute anyway lol. Will post pics after she has had a chance to settle in. :)

Misfit has settled quite nicely, i put a toilet roll tube in for her and she went straight in. At the mmoent she is in a tub in Angels viv, but the hubby is going to build me a 4 x 2 viv for Angel at the weekend and then Angel will move into that and Misfit will occupy Angels 2 x 2 but i will leave her in her tub in the viv until she grows as she is really small at the moment.

Question - Just to refresh, she was fed on Sunday and i want to leave her alone for a few days but when should i give her her next meal x She is not very old she is tiny and i think even smaller than Angel was when i brought her home so she is definately a March baby probably late March given her size xx

Lots of people say a week before first feed, but if your newbie is comfortable I wouldn't see any issues with feeding on Sunday again.

Ok thanks i wasn't sure if i could feed her for a week or not, she is so small but has taken to her toilet roll really quickly lol x

She's in a tub inside your other snake's viv? Hopefully nothing will come of this but to be honest I would never have done this. If your new snake has any diseases or mites you're exposing Angel. I've always quarantined new purchases in separate rooms for at least 6 months, personally

Whoops - missed that pertinent fact completely. Aside from the quarantine issues, a small snake in a bigger snake's enclosure could easily end up as lunch if there is any way they could reach other. I'd separate immediately if possible...

The tub has a locking lid on it there is no way Angel ccan get in or misfit get out. There are numerous air holes on in the lid but non large enough for any contact from either corns. Should i get a heat pad then and put it under half of the tub perhaps then so misfit is warm enough??

She will be in her own viv by sunday, but still in the tub. It was only a short term arrangement. Very short term

Yay misfit has had her first poop since i got her. I hope this means she has digested the pinky she was given on Sunday before i had her. I am still gonna wait until Sunday before feeding or handling her again though :)

Yay handled Misfit for the first time tonight. She was so calm, weighed then fed her, she is 7g, fed with tongs and she took a few seconds to think about it then struck with a vengence lol. Guess she was a bit hungry. Last feed was by seller last Sunday. Put her back in her tub and she is now roaming around. No interest in sleeping at the moment
