New Barr's Cages

They're just as easy to clean out as a Rubbermaid or other plastic container. I used a warm water mild bleach solution to clean mine and they came out just fine.

I've got my two stacked, currently. They make a spacer that goes between them that allows for the use of an under-cabinet lighting unit. Or if you don't want a light, you can just use an UTH. I'm pretty sure that if you wanted to stack them, you'd have to get the spacer. It is inset a tad so that it'll fit inside the top lip and the bottom for a secure fit. I'm sure you could stack them one on one, but I'd make sure they were backed up to something like a wall to avoid possible accidents.

I got the 24x12x12 just to try out, and I fully intend to get at least the 36x12x12 for my adults. The 24's work, but it is too cramped for my snakes I feel like.

Shipping was quite reasonable...$9 or so if I remember rightly. They're extremely light, just awkwardly sized. But they're shipped just standard UPS, and since Tennesse isn't too awfull far from me, it only took 2 days transit before they arrived.

All in all, I'm still extremely impressed. I just wish I had the cash in-hand to splurge and buy a cage for everyone of my corns. =P

Gonna get a total of 5 36's for now, and maybe 8 24's and then a rack for hatchlings/juvies. Just gotta keep saving up pennies, selling snakes, and mice. =D

I noticed that you have a spacer on your cages... does it come with the spacers... and how about the lamps... does it come with the lamp... or do you need to buy it.. what size of lamp... i know that I am all curiouse and all.. but i want to get one... and I dont want to have to purchase a whole bunch of other stuff with it.

The spacer and the lights are separate. The spacer is $15, and fits together like a puzzle, so it can be easily taken apart and stored flat when not needed.

The light is a standard fluorescent under-cabinet light available from most home improvement stores. I got mine at a local hardware store for $8. You can find them at Wal-mart as well reasonably priced. Mine is a 21" model.

Hope that helps you a little bit. I still highly recommend these cages, despite the added cost to make them look nice. Its a good average priced investment for my snakes, I know for sure. =)
