Hello all. Just picked up my very 1st snake. A pink snow corn named Jet. She is 3-4 months old and we have owned her for 4days now. Had our first feed last night and she is a pro already. Snatched the pinkie from my tongs and down the hatch. Then back to her tank and warm hide. Is it too soon to feed her 2 pinkies? I only ask because she still has that searching around like crazy attitude after eating. It was an appropriately sized pinkie but this is all still new to me. I guess I could just wait for a month or two and then look into fuzzies. Anyway she is very happy it seems and we are in love with her no doubt. Look forward to many good chats in the future.

welcome to the forums. you have a very nice looking snake there.

as far as what you should feed Jet, its based on his weight. most people try and follow the "munson plan". its posted somewhere on this forum. i'll try and find a link to the thread.

Hey Crusher, welcome to the forum! :wavey:

Jet is adorable! Is that photo in your home? Do you have more photos of your setup? It looks very pretty.

Another good way to check if she's ready for increased foods is to look at her after 24 hours. If you can still see a "bump" from the mouse, then you should wait a bit before upping her prey sizes. Snakes will always be in that hunting mode for a while after eating.

Here's a good thread with lots of information. http://www.cornsnakes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28341

Looking forward to getting to know ya!

Pic was taken right when I received her. I had just purchased the tank and various things. Will show her final setup at home with better pics from my digi cam later. Cell phone cam stinks :).

Most of my snakes stay active for a few hours after feeding. That doesn't mean they need more food!

Welcome! Pretty snake!
