Hi all, i have just rescued a cornsnake whos owner no longer wanted him as he tends tobe a little nippy.

I have a couple of questions which would be of great help in getting him settled in, at the moment i only have a 2 Ft by 1 Ft viv for him hes just over 2 Ft long at the moment.

Do you think that this size will be ok for him for a month till i finish building a bigger viv or should i go and find a bigger plastic tank to mod into a viv, and if so what size would you advice.

Also he tends to spend most of the day in the water bowl, i've checked well for mites and no sign of any and the temp's are ok any ideas why hes acting like this ? hes old water bowl was a bit small i think he couldn't get hes whole body into maybe he just likes the new bowl. Any ideas.

Many thanks in advance

Your viv size will be fine for now but bigger will be better in a month.

Snakes sometimes will sit in the water bowl when they are getting ready to shed. They will also use it as a hide if they like that better than other hides that are available. Try giving is some other place to hide and see if it likes that any better.
