Normals FTW
Hey! I thought since I've posted a few threads in other sub-forums, I'd introduce myself here.

I used to own a red albino corn snake named Gary when I was little. Unfortunately, due to the fact that my mom was sick of feeding him, we had to give him away to a friend. Now that I'm here in college, I decided to get a new hatchling.
His name is Somoa (though he might be a her, I'll just use "he" until I'm completely sure.) He is a normal color, and about 2 months old (I've had him for a little over one month). He's not much a spaz at all, but he loves to explore and keep moving. Just today I made him a jungle-gym of sticks to climb, and he's been all over them for the last couple hours or so. He's pretty spoiled. ;)
Anyways, here's a few pictures. I hope to get more involved in the community here. Woo, snakes!

Grgeous little critter.
If you got some time, be sure to post some pics of the jungle-gym.

He's just darling! Those are great shots...and like Toshiro mentioned, we'd love to see his setup.

Welcome to the forum! :wavey:

Thanks guys! This is the jungle gym and the overall tank setup:

He's sleeping on top of it. :] (The light is a dim light that emits a small amount of heat on top of the heating pad and thermostat to keep the tank at a good temperature. I live in a very chilly climate.)

Welcome to the forums!!!:wavey:
It looks like a great place for him exept for 2 things... There is a possibility that he could get himself stuck to the tape if there is any of the sticky side exposed, and there is always a possibility of him wedging his head under the tape also.
Also, Do you have a heat mat on the bottom? What is the temp of the warm side?
Other than all that, the setup looks great!!!!

Yeah, I realized that about the tape. I covered up most of the open sticky spots and rubbed over the entire setup with dirt. It's not sticky anymore.
Yep, I have a heating pad and the probe thermometer says it's at about 85F right now. The dial thermometer says the air temp is at about 80F on the warm side, and 70 on the cold side.
Thank you for the complement :]

Great snake and setup!! Somoa is lucky to have an owner like you!!

Welcome to the forum!!

Samoa's a cute little baby you've got there! And I love the look of your jungle-gym; the tape lends it a bit of something. :D
Welcome to the forums and all that! ;)

welcome to the forums! u've got a great looking corn there. like the set up too. sounds like you know what your doing, and i'm sure your snake loves his new jungle gym!

Thank you everyone. :] The tape is green and gold to match my college's colors. Somoa loves to sleep on top of it.

What a little cutie :) I like the gym, although I think I would try to tie a toilet paper roll either on top or underneath it like a hammock to give a little cover if they didn't want to be that exposed, but doesn't sound like it bothers him being out in the open :)

Welcome to the forum!
