A little while ago I posted that my snake had died, (it was part of another thread I had).. well anyway that was about a week and a half ago. I whent to the store where I got him from and they told me all of the snakes that they had recieved from that breeder had died! (about 3-4 snakes)... It was such a relief, I knew I was doing everything right, temps, feeding etc.. (this was the snake with mites)... and then I came in one night and he was dead. I trust this store and I know it wasn't their fault so I will be getting another corn from them, I have also purchased many other reptiles from them with no problem. I hope they will choose to get it from a new breeder, and it will turn out better. Just thought I would let you guys know.

I found out today that the store got it from a reseller... too many people handling these poor guys 
... and that he drove his car 4 hours (Vancouver B.C. --> Kelowna B.C.) and when he got to the store snakes where cold, with food in the shipping container.. But the store has a Caramel Corn that's in GREAT condition that is probably a yearling or over a year old. No mites or anything, and is nice and fat. I will be going to the store tomorrow to pick it up, I'm so excited!

It is always nice to hear that it wasn't your fault, because even if we think we are doing everything right, we still tend to blame ourselves.
I am glad to hear you have found a wonderful new cornsnake to bring home. Make sure you sterilize the cage and everything in it before adding the new snake to it.

...but good thing that it wasn't your fault. The same type of thing happened to me with my first corn, however it was very much the petstore's fault (they had them all in cedar bedding, in one small plastic tank, unless someone called to have them picked up in which case they fixed their set up quite nicely...) It's awfult that people are so greedy that they care less about the animals they sell.
