new snake owner with a couple questions

hi I have a couple questions and concerns regarding my baby corn snake I bought from a reptile shop approximately 2 week ago.

My baby corn is currently in the 'blue phase' and was wondering if I could feed him a pinkie mouse. Also how many days after he has fed can I hold him again because i have seen mixed opinions about this, thanks!:D

Don't feed him until after he sheds, and probably don't hold him until after he sheds. When they're in a shedding phase, they mostly just like to hide and not do anything else. They're not feeling their best at that time.

I wait until after mine have pooped before I hold them, because I don't like getting pooped on or around. But you can hold him after 2-3 days. A very young snake may poo after 24 hours though. The main thing is to give him enough time to digest, since the stress of being handled by a big scary monster (you) could make him throw up. Regurgitation in snakes, especially young ones, is very serious.

I take feeding in shed on a snake by snake basis, personally; if they'll eat in shed without issue, I let them eat, if not, that's fine. As for handling, I've always handled them while in shed, but never within 48 horus of them eating - gotta' let that food go down. So far I have yet to be pooped on... Fingers crossed that will continue!
