I suggest you look up a good corn snake care sheet very soon! (I assume your snake is a corn, since you are posting here)
Other than that...move your water away from the heat lamp. Warm, stagnant water is a breeding ground for bacteria. If humidity is a problem, spray the cage a bit once every day or two. Also, be sure to provide a wet hide during sheds (there should be instructions for making a wet hide in that care sheet I'm sure you're going to look up right away.)
Give Gunther a few days to settle in, and make sure he eats once before you really start handling him. After he eats, give him 24-48 hours before you pick him up. That rule goes for every feeding, not just the first one.
