Hi,
I have had ball pythons for years.then started working at a pet store and they could not get these 2 baby corns to eat. They wet given to me...i told them time after time they needed to be fed separately but they just would not listen.I brought them home last night.thawed out some pinkies fed them separately and imagine that...they both ate with no problems.Going to try to attach the pic I have of them .maybe you could tell me what type they ate.
Thanks so much
Robin

I'm so glad you got these little ones to eat. Looks like a normal and a hypo to me, but I'm not an expert, so don't take my word on it.

If you have any other questions please ask. I assume you are planning on housing them separately as well. They will do so much better in their own enclosures.

Congrats and welcome to the forum :wavey:

They are already separated. That was the pic I took to send to the hubby. They each have their own 10 gallon right now...I have leopard geckos in a rack system...may do a small one for these guys. For the record I keep no reptiles together....unless for breeding...for short periods of time.I know these guys have been together and quite obviously unsuccessfully. They seem quite happy in their own tanks with their own hide own water bowls and of course own food. They are so damn cute though

I was trying to be subtle about not cohabbing. FAIL! Lol.

They are adorable and you seem to have things well in hand. Sounds like you are a wonderful snake mom.

You did well being subtle...i don't do subtle so well...i am huuuugggeee on no cohabiting reptiles...only my dogs can cohab...lol And even they get pissy abut it sometimes...lol

I'm looking forward to more pics when they have settled in. Enjoy. Corn snakes are a lot of fun!

I already love them...had a feeling the one was a normal...when I can get a decent shot of him...he has a bump in his spine...that is why he came home with me...no idea what caused it or if it was something from birth...he is otherwise fine...actually no idea on sex of either...once they grow some I will have them sexed...weighed them last night before the meal the normal was 7.3 grams and the hypo 7.5so very very close weight wise

Sounds like a slight kink. Many snakes live full and happy lives with a kink, so not to worry. At their size it's almost surely congenital and not an injury. Because a genetic component is unclear, kinked snakes should not be bred.

A reptile vet can sex them, tell you more about the bump, and make sure it is just a little kink.

They sure are little ones! Sound pretty fresh out of the egg to me. I've never handled a corn quite that small, but with your good care they will be bigger in no time. You can safely feed them a small pinky every 5 days to help get them past this more fragile baby stage.

Excellent..every 5 days it will be till I can get some weight on them. Thanks so much for all your help.Wasnt sure how often I should feed...Have no intent to breed. I see too many that people just get tired of on craigs list and other places. They will strictly be spoiled pets.

Welcome! They are both adorable. I agree it sounds like a kink, you can post a pic if you want - but the fact he ate is a really good sign he will be okay, just a little more unique!

And mine was about that small when I got her, but they can thrive. Now she is a huge girl, hard to think that she was once the size of a pencil :)

I'm glad both of them found someone great to take care of them. Congrats!

Nice Snakes

I am enclosing a picture of the 4 most prolific "Normals."

Not sure about the snake on the left, but the one on the right I am leaning towards an "Alabama Normal."

But.....lol...i realm like that Miami phase...may have to look for one...ya know cause I NEED another animal...hmm lets see...9 leopard geckos 2 crested geckos 4 Ball pythons..a Border collie a rat terrier and a German shepherd with 10 puppies...oh yeahand currently 8 leopard gecko eggs...yup I need more...lmao

I have to get new pics but wanted to let you all know they are doing awesome. They have doubled in weight are eating great now and I just love them both

I'm so happy. Of course I'm looking forward to pics when you are able, but for now this is totally awesome news.

Forgive the pun but these little ones really do worn their ways into our hearts. So glad you love them so much. They and you both deserve that!
