So my name is Megan. I am very new to this whole thing. I have always always been fascinated by snakes i love them to death. But i just recently got my very first one because it's one matter of ME loving snakes and another matter convincing my mom... I bought a corn a couple weeks ago and while i was doing some research found this site :) I thought i had done enough research to be fine before i bought the snake... i am now finding there is SO much i dont know. I'm a little overwhelmed and it's great to have found a site where i can get such great help!
My snake is named Aziza which means beloved in Arabic. She's about 2 feet long, i didnt think to ask how old she is or anything :( I know. I'm a newbie. I abolutely love her though and definetly plan on getting more corns once i figure out the ropes a little better.
I was gonna put a picture on here hoping you guys could help me indentify her morph because i'm clueless but i cant figure that out.... maybe later.

So i have a few questions, I live in a pretty dry area and i dont think my snake has enough humidity, which worries me because she just went into the blue and i've read that shedding problems can occur if the humidity isnt correct. I have read about humitiy hides and am thinking about doing that but are there any other ways to easily raise the humidity? I've also read about misting the cage and putting a plastic wrap over half... What is a plastic wrap and how do you go about getting one? Do you just mist it with a spray bottle? What is the best way to provide humidity?
Ok and next topic, i've noticed some of the scales look flaky.. does that come with the shedding process or should i be worried?

I'm sorry about all the questions! I'm completely new to this. Thanks so much for the help :) And i'm excited to join this community :)

You can just mist the tank lighly once a day if you worry its too dry, but for the most part they shed just fine. They do look milky and weird when in blue but don't worry after the shed she'll look normal again:) Welcome to the forums btw!

Welcome! I think you are trying to attach an image saved in your computer as if it was a link to a photo on-line somewhere. You need to "Go Advanced", scroll down and click on "My Attachments", insert your image there and load it (watch the image size as there are limits), add a message to the body that is at least 10 characters long, and then submit your post.

And as for the shedding issue, your best bet is to add a moist hide to your snake's viv. A sealed container with an opening for the snake to get in through that contained damp sphagnum moss or even damp crumpled newspaper would do.

Welcome! I'm still new myself, but I completely understand the enthusiasm. :)
