New to snakes and this site!

hmm... having trouble posting the pic... let's try this again lol

Ok cool!!!!! :) Since it's my very first snake, I wasn't worried about what colour/morph to get or anything, but the girl at the store who got the snake out of the cage said "this one is supposed to be the anery corn snake" so it made me wonder haha The only other corn snake they had was red/orange and $20 more expensive!!! I wasn't about to pay $20 just to get a snake that's red instead of brown haha

Well I'm going to try something different soon, because I'm using Reptile Bark right now and I don't really like it.

Nice snake! :D I suck at taking pictures lol I think mine is a normal one.

Yes! Like the one in your pics! All your snakes are gorgeous!!! :p

Serp, why don't you like the Reptile Bark? I've never used it so I'm curious! And if/when you get a pic of your snake, you should post it :) I want to see him!

Thanks :)

I don't like the Reptile Bark because it seems very dusty to me, and I've used aspen for my hamsters a while back and I remember that the aspen barely had any dust. Also, when I go to clean the viv and change the water I get spliters in my fingers.

Thank you! Serp you have a beautiful normal corn then. Looks close to some of the wild corns that are native to Ky where I am. :D

Oh wow reptile bark sounds like it would be aggravating to use then! I almost bought some the other day but now I'm glad I didn't! I went with Sani-Chips because the texture/colour looks good in the room I have Lestat in haha Gosh, looking at everyone else's snakes makes me want more! They're all so pretty! Haha Too bad I promised my husband that if he bought me a snake, I wouldn't ask for any more pets! lol :bang:

Yeah, that's why I'm looking for something else to use! lol I might try using aspen next. I have enough pets to look after now, with three cats and a snake :p

I've heard a lot of good things about aspen. I don't have any personal experience, but I've heard from a few people that its what they use/like. Just make sure the kitties don't get the snake ;) Yeah, I know how you feel with enough pets to look after. I would like more, but wouldn't get any more even if I had the option to because the ones I have now keep me busy enough! I want to make sure all my pets have all the attention they need haha I think I'm at my limit now with 2 dogs, a fish tank, 2 sugar gliders, and now a snake

I'll probably end up using aspen if I can't find something better then the Reptile Bark. I have bought this soil that is made up of compressed coconut husk fibre, and I'm pretty sure it is safe for snakes. After that I'll probably use aspen. I would like to have more pets, but I have a younger sister and she doesn't quite know how to be nice to animals yet >.>

If your talking to me ... yeah I took that pic to compare sizes of snakes to make sure he wasn't underweight. After I took it I figured I could get a long distance palm reading but I don't need anymore bad news.
