New viv question

Corn love
Hi,

I just inspected my new viv, and i noticed the glass was *really* thin. I seriously wonder how it was managed to be put together and shipped to my house. It's like 1 millimeter or something. Is that any good? I can imagine the viv cooling off very quickly after the lamps are out. Not to mention it's probably cooler around the glass then in the middle of the viv.

Also, i already noticed that the top glass gets extremely hot from the lamp. Can't that crack and hurt/kill my snake? Especially if they decide to go romping about. Not to mention fire hazzard with the dry woodships they land on. The lamps will probably continue to burn since there quite strong.

I'm pretty worried to leave the viv alone tomorrow. I probably won't be able to put anything decorative on top of the viv now :/ With those ugly cables poking out of the top.
